Dr. Jennie Gay conducts research in the area of physical activity and public health, focusing on how our lifestyle behaviors can meet both individual health goals and improve the environment. Her interests also include how the physical environment and social contexts influence physical activity in children, adolescents and adults.
Dr. Gay also has expertise in implementation science to adapt and monitor programs across settings and populations. Her other areas of interest include the health benefits of occupational physical activity, measuring activity at work, and how to increase time spent in activity during work hours as well as growth and maturation as indicators of decreases in physical activity, and measurement and methodological issues in physical activity research.
Alyssa Reeves graduated Spring 2026 with a Bachelor’s in psychology. She is continuing her education as a Double Dawg obtaining a Masters of Public Health. Alyssa plans on applying to medical school and pursue a career as a pediatrician. Alyssa works as a patient care technician at St. Mary’s Hospital. She also volunteers with the Clarke County Mentor Program. In her free time, Alyssa likes to bake, go on hikes, and spend time with family.
Alexa DeVilmé is a second-year dual degree Master's student pursuing degrees in Public Health and Social Work. After graduating from the University of Georgia, she plans to apply to doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology with the goal of becoming a clinical psychologist. She aspires to integrate psychological principles, public health strategies, and social work interventions to provide holistic mental health care and promote well-being across diverse communities.
